{"id":25302,"date":"2021-04-22T15:18:51","date_gmt":"2021-04-22T15:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/remote-access-uds-enterprise-control-user-sessions\/"},"modified":"2023-09-21T15:14:25","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T15:14:25","slug":"remote-access-uds-enterprise-control-user-sessions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/en\/remote-access-uds-enterprise-control-user-sessions\/","title":{"rendered":"Remote access with UDS Enterprise: Control user sessions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two essential tasks must be carried out to configure this new UDS Enterprise capability, and they must be executed in this order:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><strong>All devices that will be available for remote access<\/strong> must be registered in one or several <strong><i>Static Multiple IP<\/i><\/strong> service within the service provider <strong><i>Static IP Machines Provider<\/i><\/strong> and <strong>have a token assigned<\/strong>. The steps to follow to apply these settings are described <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsenterprise.com\/en\/blog\/2021\/04\/20\/remote-access-uds-enterprise-configuration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in this post<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All devices must <strong>have installed the new Unmanaged UDS Actor<\/strong> with <strong>the same token<\/strong> indicated in the previous step.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The <strong>UDS Unmanaged Actor<\/strong> is downloaded from the UDS server itself, which is accessed through a web browser with a user with administration permissions. This component will be the one that <strong>will notify the system when a user logs in and out<\/strong> on a computer, to know <strong>when to release it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are two versions of the Unmanaged Actor, one for <strong>Windows<\/strong> devices (Desktop and Server) and another for <strong>Linux<\/strong>, specifically for Debian-based distributions (Ubuntu, xUbuntu, Kali Linux, Raspbian\u2026). It should be noted that these actors, in the same way as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsenterprise.com\/en\/blog\/2020\/06\/19\/uds-enterprise-30-uds-client-uds-actors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the other ones that come in UDS Enterprise 3.0<\/a><\/strong>, are <strong>digitally signed<\/strong> and include <strong>advanced security features<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Once the UDS Actor is downloaded on the computer available for remote access, you will proceed to its <strong>installation<\/strong>. The configuration wizard will require the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>SSL Validation<\/strong>. Type of security to be used for communication with the UDS server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>UDS Server<\/strong>. Name or IP address of the UDS server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Service Token. Here you need to introduce the same code indicated in the <i>Static Multiple IP<\/i> section.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Log Level<\/strong>. The type of records that will appear in the UDS Actor log files.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once these easy steps have been completed, and the appropriate connection protocol has been enabled on the device, it will be <strong>ready to be used remotely. Its sessions will be controlled automatically by UDS Enterprise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This new functionality from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsenterprise.com\/en\/blog\/2020\/11\/04\/new-version-vdi-broker-uds-enterprise-30-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UDS Enterprise 3.0<\/a><\/strong> has been widely applauded by the community of partners, customers and users, since it allows <strong>to optimize the use of computing resources<\/strong>.
