{"id":26015,"date":"2018-10-31T06:57:51","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T06:57:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/uds-enterprise-helps-new-york-students-learning-ro\/"},"modified":"2025-07-09T07:47:50","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T07:47:50","slug":"uds-enterprise-helps-new-york-students-learning-ro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/en\/uds-enterprise-helps-new-york-students-learning-ro\/","title":{"rendered":"UDS Enterprise helps New York students learning Robotics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lawrence Froymovich, the class mentor who is representing Team Roboboogie&#8217;s business department for this class, explained how <strong>the support of the UDS Enterprise team has been essential to prepare students for the challenge<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur robotics team is hosting this year a three-month-long weekly Robotics Build and Design Class for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). <strong>These kids are part of our outreach effort and we hope to develop them as the next generation for FTC and STEM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These classes take place for 90 minutes and will teach &#8220;young engineers\u201d the necessary <strong>skills to build animals, arms, claws, and competitive battle bots using CAD<\/strong> (computer animated design). Class participants will even get a chance to <strong>3D print their design ideas and test them using computer animation<\/strong>. By doing so, we wish to lead the students into the technical world of FTC\u2019s 2019 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstinspires.org\/robotics\/ftc\/game-and-season?utm_source=press-release&amp;utm_medium=web&amp;utm_campaign=ftc-kickoff-019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rover Ruckus challenge<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Several weeks before our first class, we realized we did not have a way of <strong>centrally managing and giving students access to Autodesk CAD programs<\/strong>, given the low-power computers they use in school.<\/p>\n<p>In order to efficiently run these CAD programs, we got in contact with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/virtualcable.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">VirtualCable<\/a><\/strong>, a software development company we knew would offer very well performing terminal services. We hoped to be able to <strong>utilize their UDS Enterprise\u2019s connection broker with our very low-power clients to enable our students to learn intricate CAD programs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The UDS Enterprise team provided us with an extended version of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsenterprise.com\/en\/downloads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UDS Enterprise Evaluation Edition<\/a><\/strong> and helped us configuring <strong>Inventor online as a virtual application<\/strong> and making it available for our students through a web browser.<\/p>\n<p>On October 17th we successfully used our school&#8217;s <strong>Chromebooks, which are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsenterprise.com\/en\/blog\/2018\/09\/21\/vdi-vapp-chromebooks-uds-enterprise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fully compatible with UDS Enterprise<\/a><\/strong>, and started our students using Inventor online!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These students will keep on learning how to create their own robots. In this way, they <strong>develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles<\/strong>, while realizing the value of innovation and working as a team. During this term, they will work hard to qualify for the Super-Regional Championships and an exciting FIRST Championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A group of
