{"id":26223,"date":"2018-01-18T13:31:54","date_gmt":"2018-01-18T13:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/vdi-comply-general-regulation-data-protection-eu\/"},"modified":"2023-09-25T08:44:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T08:44:00","slug":"vdi-comply-general-regulation-data-protection-eu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/udsenterprise.com\/en\/vdi-comply-general-regulation-data-protection-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"VDI to protect critical data according to EU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Before the imminent entry into force of this regulation, companies, and organizations of all kinds, including public administration, must be updated, and ensure that they have <strong>full control<\/strong> over the places where they store their <strong>critical data<\/strong> and that this information is <strong>permanently secure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To meet the new legislative requirements, many public sector organizations are being forced to <strong>transform IT processes and work places<\/strong>, at a time when cuts in public budgets are the order of the day.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>virtualization of desktops and applications<\/strong> is becoming a great ally in these cases since, in addition to providing <strong>flexibility<\/strong> to workers who can access their work tools 24&#215;7  from anywhere and through any device, and <strong>simplify the work and increase IT productivity<\/strong>, it helps <strong>keep sensitive information secure with very contained expenses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With the <strong>VDI<\/strong> model, the <strong>data is stored centrally in a server<\/strong> instead of being distributed in the equipment used by workers, making it much easier to secure and <strong>be accessed with control<\/strong>. According to an IDC study, 70% of data vulnerabilities originate in the user&#8217;s workplace, so using virtual desktops would <strong>eliminate much of the risk of data being compromised<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, in the case of an audit, it is <strong>much easier to demonstrate that the current regulations are being complied with<\/strong>.
