UDS Enterprise is going to take part in the OpenExpo Day 2015 next June 16th. This conference, which will be held at the Galileo Theatre in Madrid, will bring together the Free Software Spanish community to talk about new trends and to present interesting Open Source tools to improve business’ productivity.
Our VDI connection broker for Windows and Linux UDS Enterprise will be one of those tools. The CEO of VirtualCable, Félix Casado, will participate in a panel discussion on cloud solutions to discuss, among other things, about the different Open Source based cloud orchestrators and desktop virtualization.
Today we gather together the most read articles in our blog during the last two weeks in order to take the pulse to our followers’ interests.
The most read topics this time are related to OpenStack, how to choose VDI thin clients and the analysis of our VDI connection broker for Windows and Linux made by DBigCloud.
Find below the links, we encourage you to share them!
UDS Enterprise fully integrates with oVirt ( versions 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4).
UDS Enterprise components are offered in Virtual Appliance format and they are hosted on the vSphere platform on which the virtual desktops are going to be deployed.
The integration process is very easy, you can check it reading this presentation:
LXD, the container-based hypervisor lead by Canonical, beats KVM in density and speed. The company published benchmarks showing that LXD runs guest machines 14.5 times more densely and with 57% less latency than KVM.
The target platform for this analysis was an Intel server running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The testing involved launching as many guest instances as possible with competing hypervisor technologies, LXD and KVM.
Thin Clients are light endpoint devices that do not perform any computer process inside the device; its operations are based on a network connection to the data center, where the virtual desktop is hosted.
When we consider the use of these devices for VDI, there are many things to take into account: What features do I need? How can I manage them? Do I really need a thin client?
