One of the main goals of this initiative is help teachers learn to create open educational resources and design practical tasks for their students related to Open Source, in order to encourage them to get involved in the development of this type of software.
Schools are invited to communicate their needs to the oSL2 so that the laboratory can develop Open Source computer tools to make the daily work of students and teachers more easy.
The Open Source Teaching Software Laboratory has been promoted by the KIT Faculty of Computer Science and has been created thanks to a grant of 125,000 euros from the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg.
