When using a server operating system to deploy desktops, UDS Enterprise allows the use of any connection protocol, in the same way as with a desktop OS.
Windows OS (2008, 2012, 2016) can be customized. For example, you can enable the feature “Desktop Experience”, disable services, etc… so that the user can’t tell the difference when he is using a server or desktop OS. What is more, with UDS Enterprise a user can work simultaneously with different types of virtual desktops, whether server or desktop.
The use of server OS provides important advantages, such as implementation cost savings thanks to savings in licensing costs and greater flexibility and platform standardisation.
UDS Enterprise supports the following server OS:
–Windows: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016.
–Linux: Server distros based on Debian, RedHat and Suse.
