One of the differential features of UDS Enterprise is its Advanced Dual Cache System. This innovative system streamlines access, saves resources, and optimizes the operation of desktop virtualization platforms.
A few days ago we disclosed the improvements that UDS Enterprise 3.0 incorporates in the UDS Server and UDS Tunnel components. Today we deal with the enhancements introduced in two other elements of our broker for desktop and application virtualization: the UDS Client and the UDS Actors.
Until now known as UDS Plugin, from release 3.0 of UDS Enterprise it will be called UDS Client. This component is installed on the client device to enable connection with desktops, virtual applications, or physical computers. The only case where it is not necessary is when the user connects using HTML5.
One of the major changes introduced in the new version of UDS Enterprise is the way to configure its main components: UDS Server and UDS Tunnel. As of version 3.0 of our desktop and application virtualization broker, which is currently in beta, the configuration will be done through a web environment. This new wizard has been designed to make the process even easier and more flexible.
On completion of the starting procedure of the UDS Server or UDS Tunnel, the URL to access the configuration wizard will be displayed. Once the corresponding IP and port have been entered in the browser, the wizard will appear:
One of the best rated aspects of UDS Enterprise by community users is its Open Source core. This feature offers unlimited flexibility and opens up a wide range of possibilities to tailor this desktop and application virtualization broker to the specific needs of each project, both technically and image wise. It allows to be easily integrated with third-party software and to incorporate own developments, making it a custom tool.
In addition, it enables each organization to personalize the solution with its corporate image, giving it a unique and highly professional appearance. It is possible to modify the general appearance of the access page and also of the different sections of the administration panel. Each client can add their own logo and change the color of the login window, the background, the font, images, change the position of the elements…
Most of our clients choose to customize the appearance of UDS Enterprise. This is the case of the University of Murcia which, as you can see in the following images, has customized both the access portal for students, researchers and staff, and the user services page:
We continue to reveal some innovations that the new version of UDS Enterprise incorporates, which, we remember, is currently in the beta phase. As usual, every time a new version of this broker for virtualization of desktops and applications is launched, improvements have been added to its components.
