by | Nov 7, 2018

The Israeli company CompLab has developed in collaboration with the developers of the Linux Mint distro the Mini PC MintBox Mini, a small computer that allows to install different versions of both Linux and Windows, even start both OS at the same time.

The differential feature of this device is that it has no fans, so it is totally silent. Although it doesn’t integrate any fan, it supports temperatures up to 45 degrees and a maximum humidity of 95%, thanks to a powerful heatsink which is responsible for removing heat and covers the entire casing.

This mini computer is governed by an Intel Celeron J3455 processor at 2.3 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 500 graphics chip. It has output HDMI mini DisplayPort and comes with 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD card. In addition, it has a 802.11 ac dual-band WiFi receiver, Bluetooth 4.2 and Gigabit Ethernet network connection.

For the most demanding users, a Pro version with 8 GB of RAM and 120 GB of storage is available. Both models have a size of 112 x 84 x 34 mm and weigh only 350 grams.
