The Covid-19 pandemic has imposed a new reality, in which work and teaching from home have become the only way for companies and educational centers to continue their activity. The students of the University of Málaga (UMA) are employing from their homes the same tools they use at the campus to follow their classes during the Covid-19 alarm state. Thanks to the Remote PC project with UDS Enterprise and OpenGnsys they can use the computers located in the educational center from anywhere . To facilitate access, another important development that leverages the great versatility of the UDS Enterprise connection broker also comes into play: the Moodle VirtualPC Plugin. Students enter the UMA Virtual Campus through any device with a web browser and, from there, thanks to the VirtualPC Plugin, they are provided access to a virtual machine or a physical computer.
The VDI and vApp connection broker UDS Enterprise is fully compatible with the new version of the VMware cloud management platform. This compatibility offers IT administrators the possibility to manage and deploy Windows and Linux virtual desktops and applications on VMware Cloud Director 10.1, thus enjoying the latest advances introduced in this solution.
The University of Cantabria (UC) is providing access to all teaching applications without limitations and through any device with UDS Enterprise. This connection broker is the cornerstone of the UNICAN Labs project, which allows students and teachers to use the computers located in the different classrooms in the campus from their homes, in order to use all the software they need to continue their lessons as usual during the alarm status by Covid-19. The IT department has developed this initiative with the close collaboration of the UDS Enterprise team.
