The most voted distributions were Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark, Solus 3 and Fedora 27. The first one replaced the desktop Unity by the previous version of GNOME Shell, introduced the new screen server protocol Wayland and included long-term support.
Solus 3 incorporated improvements in all areas, from core security to multimedia updates. In addition, it came with Budgie 10.4, a major update to this GTK-based desktop environment that has helped it become the leading alternative for Arch Linux.
As for Fedora 27 Workstation, it has GNOME 3.26, LibreOffice 5.4, simplifies container storage and offers container services by default using the RHEL subscriptions for developers.
