The Eclipse Foundation has announced the release of Eclipse Che, a new integrated development environment (IDE) platform.
This ecosystem supported by Codenvy, Microsoft, Red Hat, and SAP is Open Source based improves agile development by integrating a cloud IDE, workspace server, and plug-ins into a universal developer workspace.
Thin clients are one useful option for VDI access. Some of these devices don’t require antimalware software, as they are secure enough by their own.
But some others require extra protection in order to assure data and users security. One example are repurposed PCs as thin clients, since although they are not usually configured to run software locally, they are tecnically vulnerable to different types of malware.
Solus second release is already available for download. This Linux From Scratch based GNU/Linux minimalist distro features a lot of improvements, such as updates in its own desktop evironment, Budgie, fixing issues affecting icons, network and rendering. They have also dropped GDM for LightDM to get significant performance improvements.
Hardware optimizations have also been performed, updating Mesa, Xorg and Intel‘s driver for X11 to extend support to Broadwell and Skylake.
