A new operating system concept has born. It is a very specific one, designed to be able to continue using technology in case of global collapse. It is called Collapse OS and, according to its developer, Virgil Dupras, it will be a key piece to continue using technological devices in a future in which the supply chain may collapse and stop producing electronics.
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) is exploring the possibility of including Open Source car parts in the new regulations for Formula 1 that will take effect in 2021. Red Hat has released this week the new version of CentOS and a new edition of this operating system for developers called CentOS Stream.
The latter is an advanced Rolling Release aimed at those who work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). It will receive daily updates and will serve as a preview or open beta of the next release of RHEL. In this way, developers will be able to carry out tests and will be aware of the new features and functionalities that will be incorporated. On the other hand, from Red Hat they will be able to get a valuable feedback from the community that will guide them to design the roadmap of the product.
Last June the latest Raspberry Pi model went on sale and, after learning about the launch, the UDS Enterprise development team started to work to ensure the compatibility of our VDI and vApp connection broker with this new version.
In order to guarantee the seamless integration of both solutions, we have released a new custom image of UDS for Raspberry Pi 4 based on Raspbian, the official operating system of Raspberry Pi.
