The different Free Software local communities are responsible for organizing the event in each city. Experts in the topic will offer conferences and workshops about all areas of application and forms of expression of Free Software.
Also, particular experiences of groups and entities that work locally, nationally and internationally with this type of software will be disclosed. The objective of all these activities is to promote the use and development of Free Software and to spread its philosophy, scope, form of development and its advances.
Admission is free and the assistants can take their devices so that the volunteers help them to install Free Software programs completely free and lawfully, so that they can prove first-hand that they are a safe and efficient alternative to software created under other development and distribution models. Organizations and entities from all sectors can find there free programs that adapt to their needs.
This year the event reaches its 15th edition. Since 2008, it has been held the fourth Saturday of April. Each year millions of people around the world share their interest, enthusiasm and curiosity on Free Software. Many of the attendees find in Free Software a source of research, employment and technological development thanks to the knowledge acquired during this technological meeting.
