OpenStack has included UDS Enterprise in the supporting companies list that are actively involved in the development of the project. The development Team has been working for months to implement connectivity to OpenStack to the VDI connection broker.
This action is part of VirtualCable’s policy of spreading and supporting Open Source initiatives for the benefit of the community.
The University of Sevilla and the University of Malaga are working with the UDS Enterprise development team in the Remote PC project, which grants access to the ICT classroom computers during out-of-school time in order to optimize the existing resources and access the specialized laboratories. In addition, PCs, memories and CPUs that have become obsolete or that are no longer used, have now a new and important role, which means an important cost saving and allows to make the most of the current computer park. In this way, the university meets the demand of students who increasingly use their own devices and gets cost savings in software licences.

Citrix has acknowledged VirtualCable as technology partner and has granted Citrix Ready distinction to UDS Enterprise.
The Citrix team has certified the compatibility of our VDI connection broker with XenServer and our software is already listed on Citrix Ready Xchange Marketplace
The City of Caceres hosted last week the 25th RedIRIS Technical Conference, involving more than 400 ICT experts from different institutions. As usual, the Technical Conference sessions were preceded by Working Groups, where the objective was to share the experiences of different universities, research centres and other institutions.
The DOCENCIA-NET Working Group dealt with Virtual Ecosystems and two sessions focused on UDS Enterprise software.
UDS Enterprise extends the range of supported operating systems. The next version of this connection broker will provide, among others, virtual desktops for Red Hat based distributions. In this way, Fedora, CentOS… join the Linux distros family compatible with this software.
The UDS Enterprise development team is working on its new version, which will be released in Q1 2015.
