The UDS Enterprise development team has created two versions of the UDS Actor to adapt this component to the particularities of the different releases of this OS and thus improve its efficiency in the management of Ubuntu VDI & vApp. The UDS Actor is the agent that is installed in the virtual machines that are used as templates to deploy virtual desktops and applications.
As you can see in the image below, administrators using UDS Enterprise 2.2.1 will find in the “Downloads” section of their user menu two UDS actors for Linux distributions based on Debian, which is the valid actor for the Ubuntu OS.
The UDS Enterprise team has published a new and useful guide including the technical and system requirements that must be taken into account when designing a desktop and application virtualization platform with this connection broker.
The UDS Enterprise connection broker is compatible with Windows Server 2019 for desktop and application virtualization. The administrators of this VDI broker can now make virtual desktops available to users with the latest version of the Microsoft operating system. They also have the possibility of deploying virtual applications hosted on Windows Server 2019 servers.
VirtualCable, a pioneer company in the development of desktop virtualization software in Spain, has announced a version of its connection broker specially designed for small and midsize businesses. UDS SMB Edition offers virtual desktops for VDI projects with a maximum of 99 users at a truly competitive price: less than € 50 per user and year.
The latest release of UDS Enterprise adds Russian, Chinese, Basque and Catalan as new languages available for this connection broker for desktop and application virtualization.
